Should I repair or replace my garage door opener?
If the opener is under about 10 years old and the fault is a remote, sensor, logic board or capacitor, repair is usually worthwhile. Why does my garage door opener hum but not open the door?
A humming motor that does not move the door usually points to a broken spring (the opener cannot lift the full door weight), a stripped gear, or a failed capacitor. Do not keep pressing the button — it can burn out the motor. We diagnose the cause on site and quote upfront.
How do I reset my garage door opener after a power outage?
Most openers simply resume when power returns. If the door was disconnected with the red emergency release cord, pull the cord toward the opener and run the opener once so the trolley re-engages. If the remotes no longer respond, the opener may need to be re-paired — an Entrancio technician can do this during a service visit.
