Updated October 2026. Every price in this guide is an ENTRANCIO installed price — delivery, professional installation, removal of your old door and taxes are all included. There is nothing added at checkout.

"How much does a garage door cost?" is the first question almost every homeowner in Orange County and Los Angeles asks us, and it is the one most garage door websites refuse to answer. You get "call for a quote", a vague national range, or a price that quietly excludes installation, haul-away and tax. This guide does the opposite. Below are the real 2026 installed prices ENTRANCIO publishes for every door, opener and repair we offer across Orange County, Los Angeles County and northern San Diego County — and exactly what moves the number up or down.

The short answer: garage door cost in Southern California in 2026

  • Classic raised-panel steel door: from $1,350 installed for an 8×7 single, $1,500 for a 16×7 double (Series 1 Classic Collection).
  • Carriage house and farmhouse doors: from about $1,700 installed; wood-look custom steel carriage doors from $3,499.
  • Flush woodgrain and iron-look doors: from $2,099 (Flush Woodgrain PolyBack) and $2,999 (Elegant Iron).
  • Modern doors: Modern View with long windows from $3,999; the Modern Line from $4,399; Flush Smooth finishes from $5,499.
  • Glass doors: Full View Glass from $6,800; Frameless Glass from $19,800.
  • Garage door openers: $799 to $1,500 installed (LiftMaster and Chamberlain).
  • Spring replacement: $300 to $700 installed for a matched pair.

All figures are 16×7 double-door base prices unless noted, in the standard color with no glass. The rest of this article explains how those numbers are built, so you can price your own door before you ever pick up the phone — or, better, see the door on your actual house first and price it from there.

How ENTRANCIO prices are built: the three-step ladder

Every door we sell uses the same transparent structure, which is why we can publish every price online.

1. Door size

The 16×7 double door is the base price. An 8×7 single door is 10% below base. A custom size — common on older Newport Beach and Pasadena homes, and on new construction with oversized openings — is 10% above base. Take the Full View Glass door: $6,800 for a 16×7, $6,120 for an 8×7, $7,480 for a custom size.

2. Color and finish

Standard colors are included. Premium finishes carry a fixed, published surcharge rather than a mystery markup. The clearest example is the Flush Smooth finish on our Modern family, which adds $1,500 at every size. A Cool Black Flush Woodgrain door is $2,249 against $2,099 for the standard woodgrain.

3. Glass and windows

Adding windows to a panel door costs $300 for clear glass or $600 for premium glass (frosted, obscure or tinted). Full-glass doors have no window add-ons because the whole door is the window.

That is the entire formula. There are no "installation extra", "delivery extra" or "plus tax" lines anywhere on an ENTRANCIO quote, which matters more than it sounds: on a typical contractor quote in Los Angeles, installation, haul-away and sales tax add 25–40% to the sticker price of the door itself.

Garage door prices by style (installed, 2026)

Traditional raised-panel steel: $1,350–$2,100

The Series 1 Classic Collection — Classic Pan, Super PolyBack and SteelBack, each in short- and long-panel versions — is the value anchor of the catalog and the right choice for most ranch, Mediterranean and tract-era homes in cities like Mission Viejo, Fullerton or Torrance. A non-insulated pan door starts at $1,500 for a double; the insulated PolyBack and SteelBack versions add rigidity, quiet and thermal performance for a few hundred dollars more. Add clear windows for $300 and you are still under $2,000 installed.

Carriage house and farmhouse: $1,700–$4,500

Carriage House Long Panel doors start around $1,700 installed for a single. The Wood-like Custom Steel Carriage House — a steel door with a convincingly wood-grained finish that never needs refinishing in coastal salt air — runs $3,499 (pan), $3,999 (PolyBack) or $4,499 (SteelBack). For Spanish Revival and farmhouse homes in Laguna Beach, San Clemente and the Pasadena bungalow districts, this is the sweet spot between authentic character and zero maintenance.

Flush woodgrain and iron-look: $2,099–$3,099

Flush Woodgrain PolyBack doors ($2,099; $2,249 in Cool Black) give a clean, minimal, plank-like face that works on transitional and modern-farmhouse architecture. The Elegant Iron family (Short Panel, Long Panel and Carriage) starts at $2,999, or $3,099 in the wood-like finish, with eight colors and six glass options.

Modern and contemporary: $3,999–$5,799

This is the fastest-growing segment in Orange County and the Westside of Los Angeles. The Modern View Long Windows door starts at $3,999 in woodgrain. The Modern Line — matte black woodgrain with horizontal glass slots, our most-visualized door — starts at $4,399, with four glass widths, five colors and two finishes. Flush Smooth versions run $5,499–$5,799. If you are replacing a door on a mid-century or new-build modern in Irvine, Costa Mesa, Manhattan Beach or Silver Lake, budget $4,500–$6,000 installed.

Glass and aluminum: $6,800–$21,780

The Full View Glass Garage Door — black or white frame, black or white glass — is $6,800 for a double, $6,120 for a single, $7,480 custom. The Frameless Glass Garage Door, the most architectural door we make, is $19,800 for a 16×7 (8×7 from $17,820; custom $21,780) in Black Opaque, White Opaque or Lava Bronze. These are the doors that appear on estates in Newport Coast, Bel Air and Malibu, and increasingly on coastal remodels in Carlsbad and Encinitas.

Garage door opener cost (installed)

  • LiftMaster 2420 chain drive: $799 (7 ft) / $999 (8 ft)
  • LiftMaster LM6580L belt drive: $900 / $1,100 — the quiet choice for attached garages
  • Chamberlain B4545T smart belt drive with built-in camera: $1,100 / $1,300
  • LiftMaster 98022 side-mount jackshaft: $1,500 — frees the ceiling for lifts and storage

Every opener price includes installation, remote and keypad programming and safety sensor setup. A new door plus a new belt-drive opener, fully installed, therefore starts around $2,400 for a classic double and about $5,300 for a Modern Line.

Garage door repair cost in Orange County and LA

Service is more than half of what we do, and the same all-inclusive rule applies. Representative installed prices:

  • Spring replacement: $300 (basic, non-insulated door), $500 (medium), $700 (heavy-duty for insulated, glass and wood doors) — always a matched pair, always high-cycle.
  • Nylon rollers: from $250 installed for a set of 10.
  • Safety sensor pair: $175. Remote 2-pack: $125. Smart wall control panel: $175.

Every repair is quoted before work begins and paid only when the door works. If you are weighing a $500 spring job against a $1,500 new door on a 25-year-old panel, our same-day repair team will tell you honestly which is the better spend.

What actually changes the price (and what doesn't)

  • Insulation: PolyBack (polyurethane) and SteelBack construction cost more than a pan door but pay back in quiet, rigidity and cooler garages in inland cities like Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda and Arcadia.
  • Glass: the single biggest lever. Windows add $300–$600; a full-glass door is a different product category.
  • Size: exactly ±10%, never a surprise.
  • Finish: fixed surcharges, published up front.
  • Not a factor: your ZIP code, haul-away, delivery, tax or "difficult access". We serve Orange County, Los Angeles County and northern San Diego County at one price.

Financing, buying online and the three ways to order

ENTRANCIO offers three purchase paths because not every project is the same. You can buy a standard configuration online with checkout in minutes, book a free in-home design consultation with no deposit, or reserve a custom door for larger or new-construction projects. Start with a free estimate if you are unsure which fits. Financing through Affirm and Klarna is available at checkout, subject to eligibility — a $4,399 Modern Line can be spread over monthly payments rather than paid in one go.

See the door on your own home before you spend a dollar

Price is only half the decision; the other half is whether a matte black Modern Line or a white carriage door actually suits your house. ENTRANCIO is the only garage door company in Southern California with a free AI visualizer: upload one photo of your garage, choose any door, color and glass option, and see it rendered on your actual home in about 60 seconds. You can compare before and after, email the rendering to a spouse or HOA, and request a price straight from it. Most homeowners settle the style question in five minutes this way, which makes the pricing conversation very short.

Ordering for the holidays: timing, lead times and gift cards

Fall is our busiest season for new doors, because a garage door is the largest single element on the front of most Southern California homes and families want the house finished before guests arrive. Here is how to plan it.

Lead time

Installation is scheduled with you after checkout and typically takes place 1–4 weeks after the order. To have a new door installed before Thanksgiving (November 26, 2026), order by the end of October. For a door in place before Christmas, order by the third week of November; custom sizes and Frameless Glass should be ordered earlier. Installation itself takes 4–6 hours for a single and 6–8 for a double, and we leave with the old door.

A garage door as a gift

Every year more families gift the door itself — to parents whose 1990s panel door has seen enough, to adult children in their first home, or as a joint family gift for the house everyone gathers in. The practical way to do it is an ENTRANCIO gift card, available in six values: $250, $500, $1,000, $2,000, $5,000 and $10,000. It is delivered instantly to the recipient's email with a personal message, never expires, and can be applied to any door, opener, repair or tune-up. A few pairings we see work well:

  • $250–$500: an annual tune-up plus new nylon rollers or a safety sensor pair — the "quiet garage" gift for parents.
  • $1,000: a new belt-drive or camera opener, installed, with remotes programmed.
  • $2,000: covers a Series 1 Classic double door or most of a carriage house door.
  • $5,000: a Modern Line door, fully installed, with change to spare.
  • $10,000: a Full View Glass door and a smart opener — the complete modern façade.

If you want the gift to land as a surprise, pair the card with a rendering: run the recipient's house through the visualizer, download the before-and-after, and give them the picture of their future door alongside the card. We also keep the holiday gift conversation going in our Journal, where the full homeowner gift guide lives.

Sample budgets for real homes

  • 1980s two-car tract home, Mission Viejo: Series 1 SteelBack long panel with clear windows + LiftMaster belt opener — about $2,700 installed.
  • Spanish Revival in Pasadena: Wood-like Custom Steel Carriage House PolyBack, custom size, premium glass — about $5,000.
  • New modern build in Irvine: Modern Line, Flush Smooth, four glass slots + camera opener — about $7,100.
  • Coastal remodel in Newport Beach: Full View Glass, black frame, black glass + jackshaft opener — about $8,300.
  • Estate in Beverly Hills or Carlsbad: Frameless Glass, Lava Bronze, custom size — about $21,800.
